Travis Newton is an award-winning filmmaker and professor from Guston, Kentucky. He received a BFA in Theatre from Western Kentucky University and an MFA in Film Production from Florida State University. 

He is a previous Academy Nichol Fellowship in Screenwriting quarterfinalist, a Sundance Screenwriters Lab semifinalist, and recipient of an Al Smith Artist Fellowship in Play/Screenwriting from the Kentucky Arts Council.
