Student Development & Engagement promotes student success by fostering leadership, connection, and purposeful engagement through the WKU Experience. SDE provides leadership for the First-Generation Initiative and Living Learning Communities (LLCs) while advancing first- and second-year experience pathways. In collaboration with campus partners, SDE serves as a central hub for co-curricular programs—offering coordination, infrastructure, and NACE-aligned assessment through the WKU Experience powered by Suitable platform—to ensure students develop the skills and experiences needed to thrive at WKU and beyond.
The F1rstGen Initiative provides cohort programs, workshops, and social events that support first-generation college students at WKU.
SDE partners with WKU Housing & Residence Life to present WKU's living learning communities.
