ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Standard Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Most adult learners follow the same admission standards as all other undergraduate students. For students with 0–24 credit hours), you must meet ONE of the following:

  • ACT composite score of 20 or greater

  • SAT combined score of 1020 or greater

  • Minimum high school GPA of 2.50

  • Required Composite Admission Index (CAI) score

  • If you do not meet the requirements listed above, you can submit a letter of appeal for additional consideration. Details are below.

Adult learners ages 21 or older who have not taken the ACT or SAT can take the ACCUPLACER for placement and admission review instead.

Letter of Appeal

We understand that your high school GPA may not reflect who you are today. Life experience, maturity, and professional growth can all influence your readiness for college.

If you do not have an ACT/SAT score on file and do not meet the minimum high school GPA requirement, you may submit a letter of appeal to admission@wku.edu that includes:

  • An explanation of what has changed since high school (maturity, life experience, motivation, etc.)

  • Why your GPA does not reflect your true abilities

  • Anything else you believe will help the admissions committee understand your readiness for college-level work
