About Xiaowen (Cecilia)

Xiaowen Chen obtained her Ph.D. degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Florida Institute of Technology in 2020. She has over six years of experience in organizational consultation. She helped her clients by diagnosing the potential issues in their workplace and providing data-driven solutions. The projects she managed include compensation system upgrading, career progression system design, employee engagement analysis, personnel selection tool development,  Minimal Viable Product development, etc. She also has plenty of successful experience of helping organizations to design and facilitate workplace training programs including DEI management, cross cultural competency, leadership, and teamwork. 

Her expertise focuses on personnel selection, assessment tool development and validation, equal employment opportunity laws and compliance, and cross-cultural management. She has a passion at helping the historically underrepresented groups to gain the equal opportunity during hiring and career progression procedures, as well as helping organizations to develop fair, valid and legally defensible personnel selection and performance evaluation tools.

She is a passionate researcher. She loves to turn her research findings into papers for dissemination. She has published four peer-review papers and has authored or co-authored 14 papers and presentations for scientist-practitioner oriented conferences such as Society of Industrial/Organizational Psychology, International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology, International Personnel Assessment Council, etc. 

Xiaowen is an avid surfer and a fencing learner.
