IACCP 2022

By Julia Hong, 8/1/2022

This year, the Congress of the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology (IACCP) discussed culture and psychology in the past, present, and future. Chen-Chillas’ research studies were accepted and presented in the IACCP 50th Anniversary Conference. Dr. Xiaowen Chen gave an oral presentation on the conceptualization of expatriate effectiveness, and Alexander Davy and Julia Hong hosted a poster presentation to discuss the relationship between expatriate adjustment, performance, and effectiveness with scholars around the world.

This was a unique experience for Julia and Alex to present the poster virtually. The poster session was held on Gather.town. Attendees could create avatars and wander the virtual conference rooms constructed for the event. When your avatar approached a table, you would automatically join a video call with the presenter and anyone else in the vicinity.

It was a great experience for Chen-Chillas to be able to discuss cross-cultural psychology research with people from diverse backgrounds! This is also the first time to let the world know about Chen-Chillas!
