Nominate Your Family

WKU recognizes our students rely on the support of their family during their college experience and acknowledges this valuable contribution to our students' success and growth in college annual with the recognition of our Family of the Year during WKU Parent & Family Weekend. 

 

WKU’s Family of the Year will receive:

• $800 scholarship for spring 2024 semester for the full-time nominating student receiving Family of the Year award

• Hotel accommodation for Sept. 8-10 at Hyatt Place, located adjacent to the WKU campus

• Four complimentary WKU vs. Houston Christian football tickets on Saturday, Sept. 9, seated in the Harbaugh Club with President Timothy Caboni

• Tickets to the Parent and Family Weekend Tailgate on South Lawn on Sept. 9.

• Parent and Family Weekend event shirts

 

Eligibility

1. To be eligible for Family of the Year, the family must have at least one student enrolled full-time at WKU for the Fall 2023 semester.

2. A “family” is defined as parents, guardians, foster families, siblings, spouses, and partners from whom the student receives support.

3. Nominees do not have to be WKU alumni to be selected for the award.

4. Nominators must be current WKU undergraduate or graduate students enrolled full-time and in good academic standing. 

5. Nominations submitted by family members who are not WKU students will not be eligible to win.

 

Selection

Nominations must be submitted online at link by September 1, 2023.  All applications will be reviewed by a committee of past award winners, alumni, and staff.
