WKU Alumni, Sherrice Dubose Joins NIAAA Staff

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (July 1, 2016) — Sherrice Dubose became a staff member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association on June 27, 2016. Sherrice was named the Development, Marketing and Public Relations Manager for the organization. Dubose will serve in the areas of partnerships, advertising, marketing NIAAA programs, and marketing to an array of individuals and groups. In addition, she will work with social media, graphic artists, print and digital, and national conference vendors.


Most recently, Sherrice earned her Master of Science degree from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, in the area of Recreation and Sport Management. Previously, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Performance from Austin Peay State University located in Clarksville, Tennessee. Most recently Dubose was employed at Western Kentucky University as an Intercollegiate Athletic Administration Program Assistant and the Director of Operations for WKU Track and Field.


Ms. Dubose was multiple sport athlete at Lighthouse Christian School, Antioch, Tennessee. While in high school she competed four seasons each of volleyball, basketball and track & field.


“We are excited to have Sherrice as a member of the NIAAA staff. She will be an excellent ambassador for the association in working with our current and prospective educational, professional and corporate affiliations,” shared NIAAA Executive Director, Dr. Mike Blackburn, CMAA. “Sherrice is pleasant to serve with and will be a strong NIAAA team member. We look forward to watching her make significant contributions to the NIAAA experience for our members and partners.”

7 charter members to be inducted into WKU chapter of SALUTE, national honor society for student veterans

History will be made on Nov. 29 when WKU will get its first chapter of SALUTE, a national honor society for student veterans. Seven charter members will be inducted into SALUTE at 5 p.m. in the Veterans Resource Center, 410 Tate Page Hall.

3 GIS alumni assist in post-hurricane recovery in Puerto Rico

Three alumni from WKU’s Department of Geography and Geology who work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have been assigned to Puerto Rico to assist in post-hurricane recovery efforts.
