Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport: Part-time Faculty

Alissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Exercise Science from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She began her career in corporate wellness before transitioning into higher education, focusing on Recreation, Health, and Fitness. In February 2004, she joined WKU as the Fitness Coordinator in the Health & Fitness Lab, where she led Fitness and Instructional Programs. In January 2010, she became the Student Wellness Coordinator and later completed her Master’s in Healthcare Administration at Western Kentucky University in 2012.

After years of developing and managing wellness and fitness programming, Alissa served as Assistant Director of Health & Fitness, where she led teams in fitness, wellness, and departmental marketing. Beginning in 2023, she moved into a new role as Assistant Director of Outreach, Assessment & Student Development, where she focuses on enhancing student engagement and departmental impact.

Outside of work, Alissa enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending quality time with her family.
