Dr. ROYHAN GANI is a Professor of Geological Sciences. He is the director of the StrataMax Lab (Stratigraphy Maximum). He has research interests in sedimentary geology, including sequence & seismic stratigraphy, river deltas, reservoir analogs, integration of subsurface data (well logs, 2D/3D seismic and cores), basin analysis, tectonic sedimentology, and the sedimentology of Mars. His interests also include geology and human evolution, including tectonics, climate, and hominin evolution of East Africa; and paleoclimate, including compound specific isotopic study of lipid biomarkers, GDGT paleotemperature, and paleoaltimetry.
