As the frantic pace of the semester relents and we enjoy the pause between academic terms, the holiday season presents a chance to reflect on our good fortune to work in higher education. Our institutional and individual contributions are important and meaningful.
Your research helps address society’s grand challenges; your regional engagement builds the capacity of South Central Kentucky and the Commonwealth; and your teaching, in and out of the classroom, changes the trajectory of our students’ lives.
The daily pressures of our constantly connected society prevent many from taking time to relax and rejuvenate. I hope you will take the opportunity afforded by our extended winter break to refresh and spend time with family and friends.
And to our staff continuing their work during the next few weeks to keep our campuses running and to our faculty teaching Winter Term courses – a special thank you for your efforts.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Go Tops!
