Biography

Dr. Anthony McAdoo serves as Interim Vice President for Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement at Western Kentucky University, while continuing his leadership as Assistant Vice President for Constituent Engagement & Philanthropy and Executive Director of the WKU Alumni Association. 

Since joining WKU in 2016, Anthony has focused on helping alumni, donors, parents, friends, volunteers, and community partners build meaningful connections with WKU and understand the role they can play in advancing the University’s mission through engagement and philanthropy. His work has helped strengthen WKU’s alumni volunteer culture and advance the Alumni Association’s mission to inspire alumni to connect, engage, and pay it forward.

Anthony is active in national advancement and alumni engagement networks, serving on the CASE District III Cabinet and chairing the district’s awards program. He is also a member of the Council of Alumni Association Executives and has served on the National Education Alumni Trust Executive Committee, including a term as chair.

A first-generation college graduate, Anthony holds three degrees from the University of Arkansas, including a doctorate in higher education leadership, and brings nearly three decades of higher education advancement experience to his work. Prior to WKU, he held progressive alumni engagement and advancement leadership roles at the University of Arkansas and the University of Oregon.

Anthony is a Lifetime Member of the WKU Alumni Association and a proud WKU donor, with more than 10 consecutive years of President’s Circle leadership-level giving.
