Weapons Code of Conduct

Firearms/Weapons

Possession, concealed or otherwise, use or storage of firearms, explosives, dangerous chemicals, or other dangerous weapons is strictly prohibited on any property owned, leased, operated, or controlled by Western Kentucky University, including student housing.

The owner of a private vehicle is prohibited from possession or storing a weapon while it is operated or parked on University property, including University parking areas, either on campus or at any off-campus facility owned, leased, or operated by the University, subject to the exceptions noted in University Policy # 0.2021: Deadly Weapons/ Destructive Devices.

If you have any additional questions on storing or transporting deadly weapons in a vehicle while on campus, including whether a particular means of storage or transportation would violate the Student Code of Conduct against weapons on campus pertaining to carrying a concealed deadly weapon, you may wish to consult the University Police Department.

Students who store weapons in residence hall rooms, who brandish weapons, or who use a weapon in a reckless manner may face disciplinary action, which may include immediate dismissal from the university. Students who store ammunition in the residence halls will face disciplinary action.
