- Student Regent

Sam Kurtz, a junior from Bowling Green, KY, is majoring in Corporate and Organizational Communications with a minor in Political Science and Sales. A third generation Hilltopper, Sam has displayed WKU spirit from a young age. The first Registered Student Organization(RSO) Sam joined was Sigma Phi Epsilon, and a week later he was elected as a Freshman Senator for the Student Government Association. He served on the Legislative Operations Committee and worked with members of Aramark to improve the on-campus dining experience. He also served as Administrative Vice President alongside President, Cole Bornefeld and Executive Vice President, Garrison Reed. Sam served the student body by helping create a record-breaking scholarship fund and serving as the Chairman of the Organizational Aid Board, where he distributed $20,000 to RSO's. After his term as Administrative Vice President, Sam ran for Student Body President and was sworn in at 19 years old. In his free time, Sam likes to cheer on the Denver Broncos, fish, and spend time with loved ones.
