KRS Faculty Member Recently Awarded Certified Venue Professional Title

BOWLING GREEN, Ky— Dr. Brad Stinnett, Assistant Professor in the School of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport at Western Kentucky University, was recently awarded the Certified Venue Professional (CVP) designation by the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM).  The CVP program, launched in 2015 by IAVM, recognizes the competence of middle to senior public assembly venue managers and signifies three important things about an individual: he or she is a capable professional, is committed to the industry, and is pledged to continued professional growth and development.

Stinnett, an active member of IAVM, serves as Vice-Chair of the Young Professionals Committee, assists with the coordination of the UpStart program, and is a regular attendee of VenueConnect. “I value our relationship with IAVM and look forward seeking innovative ways to involve our students in the association’s national and regional events,” stated Stinnett. “Helping to develop competent and marketable students is a top priority of my colleagues and me in KRS.”

Part of IAVM’s inaugural class of CVP’s, Stinnett was honored at a recognition ceremony during the association’s recent annual conference in Minneapolis. “Obtaining CVP designation was not only a personal goal, but a professional one as well, and taking part in the CVP process will allow me to mentor and guide students in our graduate program, particularly the Facility & Event Management concentration, who seek to gain this reputable industry credential,” he noted.

WKU’s School of KRS has been a partner with IAVM since 2011 and utilizes the partnership to provide a wide based professional network and educational resources for students enrolled in the 100% online Master of Science in Recreation and Sport Administration with a concentration in Facility and Event Management
