WKU Sport Management Faculty Member To Guest Lecture at the Beijing University of Chemical Technology

Dr. Bruce Larson, Associate Professor of Sport Management in the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport (KRS), has been invited to participate in the “Summer Lectures of Foreign Professors” program July 7-14 in Beijing, China at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT).

The invitation is part of a collaborative effort between Dr. Larson and Dr. Sun Ge, a visiting scholar with KRS during the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters, to assist students at WKU and BUCT on research and development of leisure, recreation and physical education.

“I am very humbled and very honored to have been invited and accepted to lecture on the issues of sport,” stated Larson.   “Being given the opportunity to represent the School of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport in this manner is awesome.”

“The School of KRS and the graduate program in Recreation and Sport Administration (RSA) are very proud of Dr. Larson for continuing to strengthen academic relationships in China,” said Dr. Fred Gibson, KRS Director of RSA Graduate Programs.

Larson noted that he will spend four hours each day speaking with current students at BUCT on recent developments and current issues facing the field of sport management, prospects of intercollegiate sports in the U.S., commercial recreation and management of leisure service organizations.
