EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM:

WKU WEATHER ALERT:

Classes beginning at 4pm today on the WKU Bowling Green campus are canceled. ALL Thursday and Friday classes on all campuses are also canceled. Online classes will proceed as scheduled. WKU offices will be closed on Thursday, with essential personnel reporting.

WKU Owensboro closed at noon today (Wed., 3/4).

WKU Glasgow evening classes that begin at 5 pm today will be canceled and the WKU Glasgow campus will close at 7 pm.

WKU Elizabethtown-Fort Knox campus will close today at 3 pm and will remain closed Thurs., Fri, and Sat., March 5-7.

Should inclement weather make travel hazardous, residence halls will remain open until Saturday. Follow WKU Housing & Residence Life for updates.

Research

Professor Martin specializes in sales and sales management, the consumer socialization of adolescents, sports marketing, and advertising to adolescents. His current research focuses on the customer-orientation of salespeople, the use of empowerment in a selling environment, the socialization process of adolescents, and the roles that entertainers and athletes play in advertising. His past business experience includes positions with leading global organizations in both financial services (Merrill Lynch) and telecommunications (United States Cellular/Bell South).

Dr. Martin is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Academy of Marketing Science. His current research focuses on the customer-orientation of salespeople, the use of empowerment in a selling environment, the socialization process of adolescents, and the roles that entertainers and athletes play in advertising. Dr. Martin has had research published in the Journal of Advertising, the Journal of Advertising Research, the Journal of Consumer Marketing, the Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, the Journal of Marketing Theory and Pratice, the Marketing Management Journal, the International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, the International Journal of Internet Marketing and Advertising, and multiple national and regional conferences.
