The Kelly M. Burch Institute for Transformative Practices in Higher Education at WKU supports innovative and transformative practices and research initiatives related to student success and that advance of the mission of the university. The Institute is designed to encourage cross-divisional collaboration and welcomes innovative ideas from faculty, staff, and students.
The four objectives guiding the work of the Burch Institute are:
To be a catalyst for transformative practices on campus and to Incite Innovation.
To organize objective measures of programs and initiatives leading to informed decision-making. Evaluation and Dissemination
To foster a symbiotic relationship between doctoral students and meaningful research at WKU. ITPHE/ELDP Connections
To pursue internal and external funding opportunities/philanthropy, and to contribute to the improvement of student-performance metrics leading to Revenue Generation.
