We’re putting the finishing touches on an exciting H4 experience designed to help you start your journey at WKU Honors with confidence, connection, and community. The schedule below provides a general preview of what to expect during H4.
A finalized schedule will be shared with all registered participants during the first week of August and will also be available through our digital event materials. Be sure to check back for updates as we continue preparing for an unforgettable Honors welcome experience.
8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Registered H4 participants move in to their assigned residence halls on campus.
2:00 PM to 3:00 PM
H4 begins with an official welcome to the Honors community. During this time, you’ll meet Honors faculty, staff, orientation leaders, and fellow incoming students while learning more about what it means to be part of the Mahurin Honors College. Expect energy, encouragement, and plenty of opportunities to start making connections from day one.
3:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Directional Planning Time is designed to help you feel prepared and organized before the semester begins. You’ll receive guidance on navigating campus resources, understanding Honors expectations, preparing for classes, and building a strong foundation for your first year at WKU.
4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Orientation counselors perform their skits to announce the theme of orientation. Participants will build their own skits to complement this theme in the course of orientation activities.
5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Complimentary dinner for participants and social time with counselors.
6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Test your skills in "Ships and Sailors" until only one remains.
7:00PM to 9:00 PM
Grab a blanket and enjoy a movie on the back lawn with peers and counselors.
7:30 AM to 9:00 AM
If you are an early bird, join a selection of activities and get to know your peers. Options include: early morning running around campus and downtown with Dr. Marijanovic, crafting with Elizabeth Gannon, or gentle movement yoga (mats are provided).

One of the best parts of H4 is getting to know other students in a smaller, more personal setting. Small Group Time allows you to connect with your orientation leaders and fellow Honors students through conversations, activities, and shared experiences that help build community early on.

Explore WKU in a fun and interactive way through the H4 Campus Scavenger Hunt. Working alongside fellow Honors students, you’ll discover important campus locations, learn WKU traditions, and become more familiar with the spaces and resources that will shape your college experience—all while competing in a spirited team challenge.
8:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Honors Dance Night is an opportunity to celebrate the start of your WKU journey with music, energy, and community. Whether you love being on the dance floor or just want to spend time with new friends, this event is designed to help students relax, have fun, and enjoy one of the signature social experiences of H4.
7:30 AM to 9:00 AM

One of the lasting traditions of H4 is the official Honors class photo. This special moment brings together the incoming Honors class to commemorate the beginning of their journey at WKU and celebrate becoming part of the Mahurin Honors College community.
6:30 PM to 8:00 PM
Before taking the stage at the Colonnades, student groups will have dedicated time to put the finishing touches on their Skit Night performances. From practicing lines to adding creative details, this collaborative experience encourages teamwork, creativity, and plenty of laughter as groups prepare for one of H4’s signature traditions.
8:00 PM to 10:00 PM
The H4 Skit Competition is a high-energy tradition where student groups showcase their creativity, humor, and teamwork in front of the Honors community. Following the performances, students will gather for s’mores, conversation, and community-building as they celebrate the memories and friendships formed throughout the program.
9:30 AM to 11:00 AM
The final morning of H4 begins with a community pancake breakfast where students, orientation leaders, faculty, and staff come together one last time before the next phase of orientation begins. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the H4 experience, connect with new friends, and start the day with energy and encouragement. HCIC Multipurpose Rm.
9:30 AM to 11:00 AM
Students will explore a variety of campus resources and student support services during this interactive information fair. Representatives from offices across WKU will be available to answer questions and help students learn more about the tools, programs, and opportunities designed to support their academic success, wellbeing, and involvement on campus. HCIC Lobby.
11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
To help students feel fully prepared for the start of the semester, small groups will participate in guided campus tours or optional trips to local stores for any final items they may need before move-in and orientation activities continue. These experiences provide another opportunity for students to build connections while gaining confidence navigating both campus and the Bowling Green community.
