Free observing opportunity with members of the Hilltopper Astronomy Club. Observe the heavens through telescopes on the roof of Western Kentucky University's Kelly Thompson Hall. An indoor presentation will be presented if weather conditions do not permit observing. Children twelve years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please dress warmly and meet at 8pm CST in the lobby of WKU's Kelly Thompson Hall (KTH). There is no charge for participation.  If tonight gets rained out, the backup date is the Thursday of the same week.

This Sexual Assault Prevention Month event will feature creative writers showcasing their talents via spoken word, creative nonfiction essays, and other works which highlight issues surrounding sexual assault awareness & prevention, domestic violence, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, and more.

A Hope Harbor representative will be in attendance to speak about the services they offer to the community for those affected by sexual trauma.

This event is free to attend, however, we will also be accepting optional donations at the door to support Hope Harbor. Any contribution, big or small, is greatly appreciated!

The Gatton Academy is a program for gifted and talented juniors and seniors in high school who apply during their sophomore year. Preview Days are a wonderful opportunity for prospective applicants and their families to meet with current Gatton Academy students and their families, visit our campus, and gain a better understanding of student life at The Gatton Academy.

This group exhibition presents the work of seniors graduating from WKU Art & Design in Spring and Summer 2026.

Welcome all to an afternoon of solar observing!  We meet outside, from 12-2pm, near the Hardin Planetarium at the intersection of State St and College Heights Blvd.  We utilize a Sunspotter (to show mass groups the sun's sunspots and to teach geometric astronomy), 9.25" Celestron NexStar with a solar filter (to show fine details such as flares and prominences), and a Coronado PST (the included Hydrogen Alpha filter really helps display the flares).  Sometimes, we'll pass out solar viewing glasses.  And sometimes, we'll have videos inside the planetarium dome showcasing different wavelengths of the sun.
