VAMPY, the Summer Program for Verbally and Mathematically Precocious Youth, assembles some of the brightest and most enthusiastic minds from counties around the Commonwealth, states across the nation, and countries all over the world. The VAMPY community reflects the diverse backgrounds, interests, and pursuits of its students who all have at least one thing in common: a love of learning.

We give campers the opportunity to develop teamwork skills, experience fun adventures, and create new lasting friendships through arts & crafts, daily recreational activities, special events, sports, as well as field trips.

The Camp Big Red staff is a high-energy, dedicated team, certified in Adult & Child CPR/AED and First Aid. Our philosophy is that all activities must be SAFE, FUN, & FAIR. Campers get the care they deserve with our 8-to-1 camper-to-staff ratio. Our staff is under the direction of Jordan Gardner,    Camp Director. COME JOIN THE FUN!!!

Camp sessions are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm with organized activities starting at 9:00am. Organized activities end at 3:30pm. Campers should be dropped off at the blue basketball courts in the Preston Center. Campers may arrive as early as 7:30am and should be picked up no later than 4:30pm. Late fees will be charged for campers picked up after 4:30pm.

Camp Explore, formerly known as The Summer Camp, is a day camp designed for advanced ability and high interest children who were in grades one, two or three during the 2014-2015 school year. The experience features hands-on and minds-on instruction to engage children in learning at advanced levels. Students will explore a wide range of subjects from math and science to art and theater during their day. Numbers will be limited to 50 children.

Youth Skills camps will cover the fundamentals and basics of baseball including catching, throwing, pitching,  defense and hitting. Kids will have an opportunity to learn how baseball is played correctly, learn drills, and compete in coach pitch games. Kids will have full access the WKU baseball facility and a chance to interact with current Hilltopper players and coaches! They will learn baseball the right way at a young age and get a head start on becoming a solid overall ball player while having a lot of FUN!!!!!
