Kristain Hammons

My name is Kristain Hammons. I was born deaf and attended the Kentucky School for the Deaf, where I graduated. After graduation, I spent a year and a half at Eastern Kentucky University before moving to Columbus, Ohio, where I worked in a home group as a Direct Support Professional, abbreviated as DSP. I currently live in Alabama and work at Amazon. I am working on returning to finish my education. I was raised by a hearing family with three sisters, and being the only deaf person in a hearing family presented challenges in feeling like a true part of their family. Fortunately, I've always found deaf friends who I consider as my second family due to our shared language and environment.
