Dr. Lynne Holland serves as the Chief Diversity Officer and Assistant Vice President of Student Life at Western Kentucky University. In these administrative roles, Dr. Holland is responsible for providing leadership for efforts to create diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environments where students, staff, and faculty thrive. Originally from Michigan, she chose WKU (far enough from home, but not too far) as the setting for formal education earning both an undergraduate and graduate degree before acquiring a doctorate of philosophy from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
During almost 30 years working in higher education, Dr. Holland has acquired direct experiences in several functional areas of the university setting, has served as both an undergraduate and graduate student adjunct faculty member, and served on countless committees and boards within the campus and the larger community. However, her most significant accomplishments are to be found in the successes of others; particularly the achievements of her students as they seek to learn, to cultivate love and joy, and to learn the value of a compassionate heart and bountiful spirit.
