The Writing Center at WKU Glasgow is part of the START Center. It offers individual conferences about writing with our staff of well-trained student tutors. Our services are available to all Western Kentucky University students, including dual credit students, as well as students who attend Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College.
Writers need feedback from readers to help refine their writing. The Writing Center can give you this feedback. Our tutors will talk with you about your writing to help you:
• Brainstorm ideas
• Clarify main points
• Strengthen logic and support
• Integrate sources and credit them properly
• Smooth out organization
• Fine-tune sentence style
• Learn to proofread
Because we want to help you become a better writer, we won't edit or proofread your paper for you. We will help you learn to revise and edit so you will be better able to catch your own errors and improve your own content, organization, and style.
Please come prepared for your appointment by bringing a copy of the assignment, any writing you have completed so far, and any class notes or resources you need.
We welcome both drop-ins and appointments. By making an appointment, you ensure that a tutor is available to help you. Come by room 160 or call us at (270) 861-6924 with any questions or to make an appointment.
You may schedule appointments by phone (270) 861-6924 or online.
There are also Writing Center locations in Bowling Green at Cherry Hall and Cravens Library. You can also submit papers for online help from tutors. For more information, visit Bowling Green Writing Center.
