Lindsey earned a B.A. in English from WKU before embarking on what she calls a “scenic route” in education. While teaching at a refugee center in South Africa, she studied Education Administration, Planning, and Social Policy at the University of Cape Town as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. After returning to WKU to pursue a M.A. in English, she earned a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to teach future teachers of English in Osijek, Croatia. She eventually landed back in Bowling Green as a high school English and journalism teacher at Bowling Green High School before transitioning to roles supporting first-generation and limited income students at WKU.
Lindsey is a native of Bowling Green, Kentucky and a third-generation WKU employee. She actively supports the Women’s Fund of South Central Kentucky and the International Center of Kentucky, where she served as a Refugee Youth Mentor. In 2021, she became a Jonesville Academy mentor. She is also a Landmark Association board member and serves on the Historic Preservation Board with the City County Planning Commission. She also mentors student leaders as a member of the Spirit Masters advisory council and serves as the advisor for STEMPOWERMENT. And if you're into Legos, you should stop by her office!
