When Can I Register?
Academic advising is essential to fulfilling the teaching and learning mission of Western Kentucky University. At WKU, academic advising is required for all baccalaureate degree-seeking students until graduation. An administrative hold will prevent registration until you have met with your assigned academic advisor. Schedule an appointment to meet with an advisor prior to your designated registration date.
Eligible students are encouraged to register during the priority period according to the sequence below. Students (full-time and part-time) may register on their assigned date or thereafter whenever TopNet is available. Refer to the specific term's academic calendar for important dates affecting your registration.
Winter 2027 session registration will open for all students on Monday, October 12, 2026. Winter session registration will not require advising prior to registration, although it is strongly recommended.

- March 3: Juniors (60 - 89 earned hours)
- March 4: Sophomores (30 - 59 earned hours)
- March 5: Freshmen (0 - 29 earned hours)
Summer session registration will not require advising prior to registration, although it is strongly recommended.
