There are many benefits to enrolling in classes during the summer. You can catch up on a missed class, concentrate on a specific course or progress toward graduation. With the Summer Pell Grant, Financial Aid and Summer Scholarship, there are even more benefits.
Summer Pell Grant
Pell grant eligible students can receive up to 150% of their award within the academic year! This means additional funding for summer for the first time in a long time! Students must register for at least 6 credit hours in summer to utilize eligible financial aid.
Summer Scholarship*
This scholarship is for all undergraduate students with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Students must enroll in at least 6 hours and complete the online scholarship application. With this scholarship, students can save:
- $425 for students with 3.0 GPA or higher
- $250 for students with 2.5 - 2.99 GPA
There are a limited number of scholarships available, so students should register and apply now.
*This scholarship does not apply to students in all Study Abroad courses, ESLI, National Student Exchange or Dual Credit or students on a WKU Faculty/Staff or Kentucky Employee waiver.
Financial Aid
Summer is part of the academic year that includes the previous fall/spring semesters. This means that financial aid for the fall semester won’t be affected for first-year students using financial aid this summer. All students must have a current FASFA on file to use financial aid for summer sessions.
Classes are offered at all four WKU campuses, online and through Study Away and Study Abroad. For a list of summer classes, click here.
