WKU-ECTC University Center Signing Ceremony

Western Kentucky University joined with Elizabethtown Community & Technical College (ECTC) and three other universities to celebrate the University Center at ECTC during a signing ceremony Friday morning at the ECTC Campus.
Through this partnership, WKU will continue to offer a variety of bachelor’s completion programs to adult learners throughout the region –– with a heavy emphasis on high-demand programs that meet the needs of area employers and job-seekers.
WKU Associate Vice President Dr. Beth Laves and Director of Regional Programming Dr. Donielle Lovell represented WKU at the ceremony.
“WKU is dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals,” said Lovell, “so we are proud to partner with ECTC to create a seamless transition for students to complete a bachelor’s degree at WKU in Elizabethtown-Fort Knox.”
Lovell added that WKU will continue to offer student resources including academic advising, open computer labs on WKU broadband, tutoring, exam proctoring and other vital services.
“As part of the University Center at ECTC, we will have even more opportunities to provide resources that benefit students and the community,” said Lovell.
Laves stated that WKU is committed to increasing access to higher education opportunities for students throughout this region.
“WKU in Elizabethtown-Fort Knox serves adult learners –– students with families, jobs and other responsibilities –– so we offer flexible courses and programs that make a bachelor's degree more achievable,” said Laves.
Through WKU in Elizabethtown-Fort Knox, adult learners can take flexible courses that fit their busy lives and allow them to complete a bachelor’s degree program that matches their academic and professional goals. Courses are offered in a variety of formats, including in-person, online, via live-streaming technology or through hybrid of course formats.
“WKU in Elizabethtown-Fort Knox brings WKU to the region,” said Laves, “and we are excited to continue to deliver programs that help adult learners reach higher.”
WKU in Elizabethtown-Fort Knox brings Western Kentucky University to the citizens of Hardin and surrounding counties, through a wide variety of academic programs, educational resources, non-credit programs and student support to help adult learners climb higher.
