WKU Distance Learning Announces 2 New Staff Members
- Tuesday, May 5th, 2015
WKU Distance Learning has named two employees to new positions. Tanya Vincent has been named the WKU Distance Learning Coordinator, and Patrick Flanigan has been named the new Distance Learning Specialist.
Vincent began working in distance learning in 2010, where she served as a specialist, processing student registration requests, tuition waivers and off-site exams. “Tanya has proven to be dedicated to students and helping them reach their goals through distance learning opportunities. I’m excited for her to take on this new role,” said Tanja Bibbs, WKU assistant director of Distance Learning. “She has a depth of institutional knowledge and office experience that will benefit students and help WKU On Demand serve them even better.
According to Bibbs, Vincent will coordinate marketing, recruitment, retention and support services for students enrolled in WKU On Demand courses and programs. Vincent officially began her new position April 1.
Flanigan is currently the office associate for WKU Continuing & Professional Development and will continue to fulfill in that capacity until his new position officially begins on July 1. He will support data requests, develop and maintain reports and analyze data for use by distance learning faculty and staff.
“Patrick has done an excellent job in his current position, and we knew he would be the perfect fit for this new role,” said Julie Uranis, director of distance learning. “He will be a great addition to the distance learning team, and I look forward to working with him as he takes on this new responsibility.”
