Biography

Hometown: Scottsville, Kentucky

Amy Hoffman Combs has been on the “Hill” since 1999.  She joined WKU Public Media in October 2021 as Director of Development.  Her tenure at WKU started as an Admissions Counselor recruiting transfer students and the 10-county service area for the university.  In 2003 she joined the office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving as Assistant Director and later moved to Associate Director.  The move to major gifts occurred in 2013 when she assumed the role as Director of Development for the Gordon Ford College of Business and subsequently added the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. 

 

Through her involvement with alumni across several generations, Amy has developed strategic relationships beneficial to WKU.  She previously coordinated all College High reunions, the inception of the Young Alumni Council, Legislative Advocacy initiatives, the Targeting our Prospective Students program, the Parents’ Advisory Council, all parent programming associated with WKU and served as liaison to the WKU Sisterhood.

 

As Director of Development for WKU Public Media, Amy will oversee the daily philanthropic activities of WKYU-PBS and WKYU-FM.  Including, but not limited to, underwriting, grant acquisition, annual giving, membership, estate planning, and major gifts. 

 

A native of Scottsville, KY, Amy received her bachelor’s degree in Integrated Strategic Communications from the University of Kentucky and master’s degree in Public Administration from Western Kentucky University.  She is actively involved with the local Chamber of Commerce and has served on the board for various professional and non-profit organizations.
