DESCRIPTION: Recognize how to helpfully respond to student disclosures of sex & gender-based discrimination or harassment and understand how to report disclosures based on the mandatory reporting requirements. Learn about the services available to students who report interpersonal violence and discuss how faculty and staff can further assist a student following a disclosure.
PRESENTATION GOAL/ OUTCOMES
Educate faculty and staff on examples of sex and gender based discrimination and harassment and how to respond in a healthy, helpful manner when a student discloses experiencing such behaviors, including fulfilling mandatory reporting guidelines, in an effort to be student-focused and trauma-informed. Facilitate discussion of steps faculty and staff can take within their purview to further assist students following a disclosure.
