Description:

Please join us for an invited lecture by Dr. Sheila Bock, Associate Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. At 5:00, Dr. Bock will present research from her forthcoming book on mortarboard decorating in a talk titled "Grad Cap Traditions: Performing Self, Community, and the Value of Higher Education." Preceding the talk, at 4:00, students are invited to decorate their own mortarboards using supplies provided.
