The Family Child Care Chronicle: Vol 55. August 2026
- WKU FCCN
- Saturday, August 1st, 2026
The August issue of The Family Child Care Chronicle highlights how gardening supports science, language, literacy, motor skills, patience, routines, and social and emotional growth in young children.
It also shares that KY COLT is coming soon, while providers can still use KY TRIS and request custom training from the WKU Family Child Care Network.
Suggested summer activities include indoor or outdoor obstacle courses that build gross motor skills and help children regulate their bodies and moods.
The newsletter also promotes the upcoming Family Child Care Conference in Covington, the new Little Lunch Learners training series, and the value of helping children build self help skills in ways that respect each family’s culture.
