WKU Varsity Esports Overwatch Team Claims Victory at Louisville Tournament

WKU Varsity Esports started the academic year on a high note as the Varsity Overwatch team traveled to Louisville, Kentucky, to compete in a tournament hosted by Olympus Gaming Lounge.
The Hilltoppers put together a strong performance throughout the event, ultimately taking first place and bringing home a tournament trophy.
The final results of the tournament were:
1. WKU
2. BGSU
3. NKU
4. UofL
5. Bellarmine
The event gave the team an opportunity to compete together in an in-person environment while representing Western Kentucky University.
The victory was an exciting way to begin the semester for WKU Varsity Esports and provided an early look at what the Varsity Overwatch roster is capable of this season.
WKU Varsity Esports continues to expand opportunities for its student-athletes to compete both online and at in-person events throughout the region. The program looks forward to seeing what the Overwatch team and all of our other Hilltopper esports teams accomplish throughout the 2026–2027 tournament season.
