On-Campus Fire Safety Information

ON-CAMPUS RESIDENTS, FACULTY, STAFF AND VISITORS

The office of Environmental Health and Safety works with other campus and off-campus units to ensure safety on campus. They can answer questions from fire safety in residence halls to reporting accidents on campus. They also work with WKU Police on other safety and security issues. Efforts by EHS staff, working with other units across campus, led to WKU becoming only the fourth university in the world to be named a Safe Community by the National Safety Council.

Housing and Residence Life (HRL) has resources regarding fire and safety. First, refer to "Hilltopics," the Residence Hall Handbook, for entries on safety, fire, and kitchen use. Also, each residence hall has an evacuation plan. Refer to the information specific to your resident hall.
