The Best Expectation Program (BEP) is an initiative designed to help students achieve academic success and ultimately graduate from Western Kentucky University. During the program, students will collaborate with team members to develop effective academic skills and strategies. BEP is required for students with an academic standing of Academic Probation or Academic Committee Approval.

The CEBS Student Success Center is your hub for independent study, small-group collaboration, peer mentoring, and academic workshops.

The Center for Literacy, in cooperation with the CEBS Student Success Center, provides regular workshops throughout the semester to help students read to remember, learn to learn, and write for evidence and argument.

The Mathematics Department provides a Math Tutoring Lab to provide free peer tutoring to students taking classes in our department, especially those taking general education mathematics courses. No appointment necessary.

The Student Accessibility Resource Center (SARC) coordinates services and accommodations for students with documented disabilities. Our most common activities include: reviewing disability documentation, meeting with students to determine appropriate accommodations, and partnering with other areas on campus to implement these accommodations.

The Student Ombuds Officer serves as an information source and point of communication for students who believe they may have a personal grievance regarding an alleged violation, misinterpretation or improper application of University policies and procedures, or alleged improper treatment.

Serving as a designated neutral, the Ombuds Officer is neither an advocate for any individual nor for the University; rather, the Ombuds Officer is available to offer an objective perspective on the issues/matters of concern.

The Learning Center (TLC) offers free tutoring for undergraduate courses and academic success skills through individual and group tutoring sessions.

The Writing Center offers individual conferences about writing with our staff of English majors and graduate students. Our services are free and available to all Western Kentucky University students.
