The Biotechnology Center Core facility is equipped with many research instruments in the field of molecular biology. Students at Western have the opportunity for hands-on experience in performing DNA sequencing, quantification of gene expression, gene amplification, tissue culture, protein chemistry, and computational analysis of biological data.

Support facilities within CEBS allow work with radioactive isotopes, tissue cultures and whole organisms.

The following equipment is located in the biotech facility.

ABI 7300 RT PCR system
ABI 3130 sequencer
