Are you ready to drop and give it all you’ve got?  The Push-up Challenge is here!  Push-ups are a great way to build upper body strength and endurance without needing fancy equipment.  Come into the Fitness Center and complete as many push-ups as you can in one go. You can compete as many times throughout the month as you want to add up your score! The male and female who have the highest total push-ups at the end of the month, plus two Raffle winners will win Mellow Mushroom gift cards.

 Rules:

  • Males do regular push-ups and females do modified or regular push-ups.
  • Notify a FC Attendant before participating.

Join us for Fall Break on the Appalachian Trail!  We will be continuing our section hike of the AT starting at Clingman’s Dome in the Smoky Mountain National park and will continue to the parks north eastern border.  Enjoy a unique backcountry experience on the trail, meet new friends and experience breath-taking mountain views in North Carolina.

This four week personal training program is designed to initiate a proactive approach to fitness throughout the holiday season.  Get into a healthy mindset before the unhealthy holiday behaviors set in. You will meet with a personal trainer twice a week for four weeks.

Dates: Oct. 22nd – Nov. 16th

Registration:

  • Individuals must sign up in the Health & Fitness Lab between Oct. 8th & Oct. 19th.
  • Each participant must complete a PAR-Q & consent form.
  • Clients are allowed to sign up for discounted buddy training only if both individuals have similar goals and can be scheduled for the same dates/times.

Price per person:

  • Students - $40 (Buddy – $35)
  • Faculty/Staff - $45 (Buddy – $40)
  • Community - $50 (Buddy – $45)

Add Nutritional Counseling for just $5.00!!

Session Information:

Each client will receive 2 personal training sessions per week

  • Total of 8 PT sessions
  • Sessions = 50min in length
  • Training will take place in our private, individualized personal training room with the same trainer each session.
  • Initial Assessment/Consultation (Oct. 8-19) & Post Assessment (Nov. 19-20 or earlier)
  • Clients will be advised to participate in cardio exercise outside of their program sessions to aid in the accomplishment of their goals.
  • Clients can NOT reschedule appointments or extend their program past Nov. 16th

  • Must try to make each and every appointment.

  • If the client arrives more than 20 minutes late, the appointment is forfeited.

Join ORAC for our Monday Weekly Ride Series.  All rides will begin in front of the Preston Center and head to a different destination each week.  Enjoy exploring Bowling Green by bike!  ORAC has helmets to rent; helmets are required on the ride.

Get ready to hit the trail!  Spend the day mountain biking in Tennessee.  We will begin our day at Hamilton Creek for a few laps, enjoy lunch, and then finish the afternoon with a lap at Lock 4 Mountain Park.  Bike and helmet rentals are available through ORAC.
