Bio
Mary Ellen Miller has her B. A, degree in English and modern languages from Berea College; her M. A. in English from the University of Kentucky; and all course work, written exams, and language exams in French and German for her Ph. D. from Vanderbilt University. She started her teaching career at Western Kentucky University in the fall of l963.
Teaching Philosophy
No single approach to teaching works for every class. A class of English majors and minors does not require the same approach as does a class of mixed majors and minors. Flexibility, respect for all levels of student preparation, and the ability to motivate the student to give her absolute best effort to the class are, for me, the key to successful teaching
