Elizabeth Groves received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing Education from Western Kentucky University (WKU). She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at WKU. As an instructor with the BSN Pre-Licensure Program at WKU, Mrs. Groves currently teaches Introduction to Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing II, and Senior Practicum. She also serves as the course-coordinator for the Medical-Surgical Nursing II Clinical and teaches simulation.
Mrs. Groves’ nursing background includes medical-surgical, critical care, and open-heart recovery, and she continues her practice as a critical care float nurse at a local hospital. She is a certified critical care registered nurse (CCRN) and holds certifications for BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, National League for Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society for which she serves as a Kappa Theta Chapter board member.
In addition to her work with the nursing program, Mrs. Groves is a co-faculty advisor for the WKU Student Fellowship of Old-Time Baptists which meets weekly for bible study and Christian fellowship.
