SMS Terms & Conditions

Western Kentucky University (WKU) uses SMS (text messaging) to share important information, updates, reminders, and opportunities with prospective students, applicants, admitted students, and other individuals who have opted in to receive text communications.

By opting in to receive SMS communications from WKU, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

 

Types of Messages

Depending on your relationship with WKU and your communication preferences, text messages may include, but are not limited to:

• Admissions and application updates

• Enrollment deadlines and reminders

• Scholarship and financial aid information

• Campus visit opportunities and event reminders

• Orientation and next-step enrollment information

• Academic program information and recruitment communications

• Other university-related updates and opportunities

 

Message Frequency and Charges

Message frequency varies based on your engagement with WKU, your enrollment status, and the types of communications you have agreed to receive.

Message and data rates may apply. WKU does not charge a fee for receiving SMS communications; however, your mobile carrier may assess charges according to your wireless service plan.

 

Opt-In and Consent

By providing your mobile phone number and affirmatively opting in to receive SMS communications, you consent to receive text messages from Western Kentucky University at the number provided.

Consent to receive SMS messages is voluntary and is not required as a condition of applying for admission, enrolling at WKU, or receiving university services.

 

Opt-Out Instructions

You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any text message received from WKU.

After submitting, you will no longer receive messages from the applicable SMS messaging program unless you opt in again.
