What is a Covered Individual?

Covered Individuals include the following for any proposal involving research:

  • Senior personnel – Principal Investigators, Co-Investigators,  whether on the budget or not
  • Faculty and researchers named on federal proposals, grants, and contracts
  • Key personnel - consultants or anyone who must submit a biosketch/current and pending document
  • Students or postdoctoral researchers who are named on a proposal budget
  • Anyone named in a RPPR or progress report including students and postdoctoral researchers
  • Staff supporting federal funded activities (named in proposal or award/progress report)
  • Subawards – any individuals listed as investigators on a subaward at a collaborating institution 

 


Covered Individuals include the following for any proposal involving non-research (e.x. Department of Education Program Grants)

  • Senior personnel – Principal Investigators, Co-Investigators,  whether on the budget or not
  • Faculty
