Active Parenting Curriculum

Active Parenting: First Five Years is a curriculum program WKUCCC incorporates into their Family Resources to help equip parents and care givers information on building the strong foundation for our children’s future. The curriculum is based on more than 30 years of experience and is a collaborative effort of educators from leading universities.

Written by Dr. Michael Popkin, the curriculum provides support and instruction for families in the successful development of children from birth to five years.

Some areas highlighted in the resource include:

  • What a baby’s cry means
  • Ages and stages of development
  • Building strong bonds
  • A child’s growing brain
  • Effective discipline young children can understand
  • Choices and consequences
  • 6 ways to prepare your child for school success

 And much more.

Information is available through DVDs and/or parent handbooks.  There is also a blog available for families to access ongoing information on parenting.

That blog site is https://activeparenting.com/blog/

Please contact WKUCCC teachers/staff with questions or information needed on this curriculum

Together we can help our children start out strong!
