Psi Chi/Psychology Club
The Psi Chi Chapter at Western Kentucky University was founded in 1973 and is a branch of the national Psi Chi organization. Since that date, the Psychology Club has also been established at this university. Psychology Club is an organization for those who are interested in psychology but who do not necessarily meet the membership requirements for Psi Chi, and who may not even be majoring/minoring in psychology. Except for certain special occasions, Psi Chi and the Psychology Club at WKU function cooperatively as one cohesive unit. The group maintains a Blackboard organization site with more information about the clubs.
The purpose of Psi Chi is to recognize academic achievement and support professional development of undergraduate students. Participants attend seminars and field trips designed to deepen their understanding of psychology. The national organization offers conventions, research awards, competitions and certificates.
