BARREN RIVER ADULT DAY CARE CENTER AT WKU
The Barron River Adult Day Care Center is designed to meet the needs of adults who
are physically impaired or mentally confused and may require supervision, medical
and nursing care, increased social opportunities or assistance with daily living activities.
Care and supervision are provided throughout the day with flexible scheduling to accommodate
the needs of families.
BARREN RIVER AREA CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER
Child sexual abuse prevention, exams, therapy, etc.
BARREN RIVER AREA SAFE SPACE, INC.
24 hour emergency shelter
Assists victims of abuse by providing emergency shelter, food, clothing, counseling,
case management, court advocacy, children's services, and referrals to other agencies.
Hotline available 24 hours (1-800-1183).
BIG BROTHERS AND SISTERS
Matches adult volunteers with children and volunteers with children and young adults
who need extra guidance and support. By spending time with good role models, children
develop self-confidence needed to become healthy productive adults.
BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB-WAR MEMORIAL UNIT
To inspire and enable young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances,
to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
THE BRIDGE
We offer intervention/relapse prevention programs for chemical and "clean" addictions
(workaholism, gambling, relationship addiction). Our workshops run between sixteen
and ninety days in length.
COLONIAL MANOR
Colonial Manor is a 48 bed-skilled nursing facility providing long-term care. Rehabilitation
and restorative therapy is also available. Licensed and certified by the Department
of Licensure and Regulations. Medicare and Medicaid certified.
DEPARTMENT FOR COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES-PROTECTION & PERMANENCY
Department for Social Services duties mandated by the Kentucky Revised Statutes include
safeguarding the rights and welfare of abused, neglected and dependent children and
adults.
FAMILY ENRICHMENT CENTER, INC. (Formerly Child Protection, Inc.)
Empowering families and preventing child abuse by providing education, social support,
crisis intervention and safe environment for children and families.
FIRSTSTEPS
First Steps provides an easily accessible no-stigmatized entry into Kentucky Early
Intervention Services for infants and toddler (birth to three years) who are suspected
of having developmental delay or have a diagnosis with a high probability of delay.
First Steps accepts all referrals for KEIS in the BRADD area and assists families
with coordinating referrals for evaluation, therapies, etc.
GIRL SCOUTS OF KENTUCKIANA COUNCIL, INC.
Girl Scouting is an informal education program that gives girls from all segments
of American life a chance to develop their potential, to make friends, and to become
a vital part of their community. Based on ethical values, it opens up a world of opportunity
for youths, working in partnership with adult volunteers.
GIRLS, INC.
Helps girls increase their self-esteem, improve their social and educational skills
and become happier, more productive adults. Offers programs and activities in careers
and life planning, health and sexuality, leadership and community action, self-reliance
and life skills, culture and heritage, sports and adventure, and special events and
field trips.
GREENVIEW REGIONAL HOSPITAL-SENIOR FRIENDS CHAPTER
A not-for-profit organization with over 500,000 members nationwide. Senior Friends
recognizes the needs and interests of individuals 50 and better. Senior Friends offers
social activities and educational seminars, health screenings, national discounts
on health care and travel, and free retirement planning workshops. The Senior Friends
center is open to the public.
GREENVIEW REGIONAL HOSPITAL-VOLUNTEER SERVICES
Offered to any responsible person over 13 year of age. The program is divided into
teen, college and adult levels. Greenview's core of volunteers play an essential role
in meeting the facility's mission of providing compassionate care through trained
professionals and state-of-the-art technology.
HOPE HARBOR: A SEXUAL TRAUMA RECOVERY CENTER
Hope Harbor assists victims of sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse by providing
a variety of confidential services. Hope Harbor's goal is to reduce the risk of victimization
in the community by enhancing awareness and improving risk reduction strategies. Those
affected by these crimes can utilize hospital accompaniment, advocacy services, and
professional counseling services. Education programs focusing on risk reduction and
self defense can be assessed by anyone in the community. An opportunity to participate
in a meaningful and active volunteer experience is available for those who are interested.
HOSPICE OF SOUTHERN KENTUCKY, INC.
Hospice of Southern Kentucky, Inc., is a nonprofit United Way Agency serving the
terminally ill in Allen, Barron, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe,
Simpson and Warren counties. Hospice is a special way of caring for people (and their
families) with a terminal illness at home and in the nursing home. Hospice is a physician-directed,
nurse-coordinative program of palliative and supportive care, available 24 hours per
day, seven days a week.
KENTUCKY DEPARTMENT OF VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION
Provides services to eligible persons with disabilities and to employers who hire
and employ qualified workers with disabilities. Services may include vocational evaluation,
counseling, restoration, training, job placement and technical assistance to employers.
KIDS ON THE BLOCK
Education/Prevention puppetry program providing tools to help children of South Central
Kentucky make health responsible life choices.
LIFESKILLS, INC. CORPORATE OFFICES
Plans and administer mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities
programs in Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson,
and Warren counties. Programs include Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit, Adult
Crisis Stablization Unit, and Children’s Summer Program.
NAMI-BOWLING GREEN ALLIANCE FOR THE MENATLLY ILL
Our members find solace and assistance in coping with mental illness by sharing experiences
and information in group meetings.
NEW BEGINNINGS THERAPUTIC RIDING, INC.
Therapeutic horseback riding program that provides a recreational activity that has
medical benefits for the individual with disabilities.
PANORAMA
Provides residential services to mentally and developmentally disabled persons, age
11 years and up. Other services include comprehensive assessments and training programs
in areas such as medical, nursing, psychiatric, psychological, social services, education,
behavior management, dietary, occupational and physical therapy, speech and recreation.
RIVENDELL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
Rivendell Behavioral Health Services, part of Children's Comprehensive Services,
Inc., is a full service behavioral healthcare provider servicing the mental health
needs of clients throughout the state of Kentucky.
VILLAGE MANOR/CHRISTIAN HEALTH CARE
A campus community which provides a combination of senior residential living with
a 24-hour nursing facility. VM offers Southern elegance and a gracious living style.
The Christian Health Center is full licensed for skilled, intermediate and personal
care.
MAGNOLIA VILLAGE
One of only three specialized Alzheimer's Disease Facilities in the state. A structured
environment with enclosed courtyards and grounds. Nursing care is provided on a 24-hour
basis meeting scheduled and unscheduled personal, medical and health related needs.
Individual care assessment and planning with emphasis on activity therapies. Written
information relating to this Facility's services and policies is available upon request.
WESTERN KENTUCKY ACTIVE DAY CARE CENTER
At Western Kentucky Active Day Care Center we combine nursing and nutrition, activities
and social services, transportation and on-site therapy into a therapeutic day care
for elders and younger adults with disabilities. Each of our clients has an individualized
plan of care developed by our professional staff, according to that client's health
status and conditions, with specific goals and objectives. Everything we do is driven
by our desire to deliver quality services to our clients and families. We are here
to assist you and your loved one to have a better quality of life.
