Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Transfer Courses
- What is transfer articulation?
Transfer articulation is a term used to define the process whereby courses taken elsewhere are assigned an equivalency at WKU. Course equivalents can be assigned as a specific catalog number at the university (e.g. Eng 100), as a generic equivalent (ENG B2-L or ACCT EL-L), or as a general elective (TRAN EL-L).
- What if certain transfer courses are not showing?
This may mean transfer credit has not yet been processed. Contact the Office of Admissions.
- What if military credit is not showing?
This may mean military credit has not yet been processed. Contact the Office of the Registrar.
- What if transfer courses are not being assigned to requirements?
This is probably because the WKU equivalencies are not specific enough to apply to major requirements. If the course does not fulfill a major or minor requirement, questions or concerns should be directed to your advisor. The department may need additional information on the course(s) before allowing the course to fulfill requirements. If the course does not fulfill a General Education/ Colonnade requirement, contact the Office of Admissions.
- Why is my transfer work showing as TRAN CONV with my grades showing as “?”?
The transfer work was recorded before the implementation of our latest student information software. Your transfer work must be entered into the new system. Please contact the Office of the Registrar.
