Social media plans delivered
Students in Dr. Joanna Phillips-Melancon's Spring 2012 Social Media Marketing classes (MKT 331) completed semester-long social media plans for New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding, an organization that helps individuals with physical, mental, behavioral, and social challenges through horseback riding.
Students made presentations of their social media marketing plans to faculty, students
and the staff of New Beginnings on May 1 and May 3. The winning marketing plan was
created by the team of Brittany McNabb, Laura Johnson, Jonathan Stone, Clay Simpson,
and Sydnee Seaman from the 11:10 class.
The 9:35 class winners, pictured from left to right with Michele Vise, program director at New Beginnings and Julie Petersen, founder of New Beginnings, were Sarah Bonner, Sarah Root, Katrina Metoyer, Mario Nguyen, Drue Eberhardt, Hollie Reed.
Projects such as this help the students connect to the "real world" through their work with these organizations and the projects provide professional level marketing assistance to these organizations. Projects such as this are common in Marketing classes at WKU. This semester students in Social Media Marketing are creating social media marketing plans for Wendy's of Bowling Green.
