The High School Leadership Conference (HSLC) is a conference sponsored by the Student Activities Office at WKU for high school students in Kentucky and the surrounding region. The goal is to develop young leaders and prepare them for their futures.

Each year, high school students from across Kentucky and the surrounding region come together at Western Kentucky University for a one day retreat to further develop their leadership skills. Participants attend sessions presented by Western Kentucky University staff and student leaders. Session topics range from:

Sessions may let out closer to 1:45 P.M. to allow time for travel back to respective school districts

Target Audience
High school 9th-12th graders who are identified as possessing leadership potential. Schools are encouraged to bring students based on their leadership needs. Some schools may bring student government officers, others may bring Upward Bound participants. This is up to the school. Individuals may also register on their own outside of a sanctioned school trip. (i.e. a homeschooled student or a high schooler interested in spending the day at WKU)
Registration Fee
$35 per student (includes breakfast, lunch, conference materials and gift). Registration fee is non-refundable. After registration, Amelia Kolb or WKU Student Activities employee will send an invoice. Cash and checks are used by most schools, and payments are oftentimes brought on the day of the conference.
