Ann Mead

Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration 

 

Ms. K. Ann Mead, Senior Vice President for Finance & Administration and Treasurer has been with the University since 1994, also serving as Director of Budget and Management Information, Director of Institutional Research, Assistant to the President for Economic Development, and as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Mead has served as a part-time faculty member since 2007.

Ms. Mead's duties include overseeing the financial operations of the University and the Division of Finance & Administration which includes approximately 100 employees and serving as a liaison with the community and state government on financial matters.  Departments reporting to the Senior Vice President include Budget, Human Resources, Chief Financial Officer and Internal Audit. The Chief Financial Officer oversees the following departments: Accounting, Bursar, Payroll, Purchasing and Accounts Payable (including Inventory Control and Shipping and Receiving), Travel, and Tax Compliance.

In addition, the Division of Finance and Administration includes Property Acquisitions and Leases, Postal Services,  Parking and Transportation, and Auxiliary Services: Printing Services, ID Center, Restaurant & Catering, Vending Services, and The WKU Store.

Ms. Mead has a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from the University of Louisville and a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky. Ms. Mead spent 10 years as Director of Finance with the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education and nine years at the University of Kentucky's Office of Planning and Budget. Current and past board service includes SPE II, Inc.; Central Region Innovation and Commercialization Center, Inc.; Bowling Area Chamber of Commerce; CITE, Inc.; WKU Foundation; WKU Research Foundation; Barren River Area Development Council; and Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky.

The Assistant Vice President for Business and Auxiliary Services oversees Postal Services, Parking and Transportation, Printing Services, contract management (health services, dining and vending), and the WKU Store.  The Assistant Vice President for Resources Management takes the lead role in property acquisitions and dispositions.
