The WKU Center for Research and Development (CRD) is uniquely positioned to dramatically enhance economic development initiatives. From starting a business, providing business space, to providing lab services to help in business growth, the staff at the CRD is here for you! 

Center for Research and Development (CRD)

With over 275,000 square feet of space located on 27 acres the Center for Research and Development (CRD) provides start-up businesses and existing growth businesses with the resources to succeed. Offering an ideal environment for businesses to collaborate with technology based companies, practicing engineers, and university scientists.

The CRD is home to WKU’s Applied Research Centers, the WKU Small Business Accelerator, and the Central Region Office - Kentucky Innovation Network.

Do you have a great idea, product or invention? 

The Bucks for Bright Ideas competition is accepting applications through April 16th

Bucks for Bright Ideas is open to anyone that lives in the 31 counties of the Bowling Green, Owensboro and Elizabethtown region or a high school or college student in the region. Winners will be announced at the Bucks for Bright Ideas banquet on May 3rd

More information on the program and an online application are available at Bucks for Bright Ideas or by calling Lynn Minton at 270-901-3490. 

Those entering the competition have the opportunity to receive help from business experts while competing for professional services worth more than $30,000. Multiple winners will receive free services from regional professional firms for market research, patent search, accounting support, product design and more. All applicants will have access to one-on-one assistance from business development experts at no charge and their ideas will remain confidential.
