Mental Well-being

According to a 2019 study by the American College Health Association (ACHA), 87% of college students felt overwhelmed by all they had to do: 66% felt overwhelming anxiety, 56% felt hopeless, and 13% considered suicide. While WKU offers mental health counseling services, HEP is a great resource for students to have facilitated discussions surrounding mental health and learn ways to improve their mental well-being.
This presentation will meet the following objectives:

Students will be able to accurately define mental health and mental well-being.

Students will be able to describe how mental health problems negatively impact college students.

Students will be able to list methods that can be used to help improve mental health and well-being.

Students will be able to recognize symptoms of common mental health disorders in themselves and others.

Students will be able to locate resources on campus that can help with mental health problems.
